Note the chlorotic appearance of the needles on this white pine, which is growing in a very compacted and poorly drained soil. In addition, this is a very alkaline soil. Plants not native to alkaline soil niches often have a very difficult time obtaining necessary minerals from the soil and show these abnormal, foliar symptoms.
