Pruning - When to prune evergreens

Evergreens with indeterminate growth will grow continuously through the growing season and can be pruned any time through the middle to late summer. Preferred pruning time is during wet periods when actively growing. Examples are arborvitae, false cypress, junipers, hemlocks, and yews.
