CUES: Center for Urban Ecology and Sustainability

Diagnosis Case: Elm

Pin-sized holed in the bark are created by exiting Native Elm Bark Beetles and the European Elm Bark Beetles. The Elm Leaf Beetle does not leave pin-sized holes in the bark.

Although this photo is of Pine Engraver Beetle holes on a Red Pine, the pin-sized holes are very similar those that Elm Bark Beetles leave on Elm.
